Star Trek Anniversary

Almost forgot, on this date Sept.8, 1966, Near and dear to my heart, Star Trek debuted. It has had a great impact on my life as well as on others' around the world. I've heard it said the universal language is Math. I disagree, Star Trek appears to unite all cultures together. Thank you Mr Roddenbery. Live Long and Prosper!

Welcome to my Art Blog!

Greetings! I am currently working on a painting that I had started in acrylics but have since converted to water miscible oils. I had found that previous attempts to work with traditional oil paints were just tooooo odoriferous for me to use! I really like the texture and also that they don't dry too fast as sometimes I get distracted, etc.
Anyway, I'm really having fun with this one. I'm a bit of a Sci-fi nut( see that SyFy? what's up with your spelling?)  anyway and I started this as a practice in a  Renaissance-esque piece but had this 'time travel meets cherubs' vision while not working on it. At this point I have most of this painting mapped out. I have focused on the details in the center on our time traveler and am working outward, so I haven't really glazed anything yet. These oil paints are newish to me and I have to wait to varnish them a few months more. Anyway I guess that I relish the thought of time travel as long as I get back to my modern conveniences at the end of the day. Hope you like!
