Washes, Wax, Wood, and Wishes Group Show is up at the River's Edge Gallery through May 21, 2016. You won't want to miss this one. There are two Artists showing representational paintings, myself included. Robby Gall is also a Representational painter. Representational meaning that the paintings look like recognizable things as opposed to abstract paintings. Here are a few paintings from the show with a link to a video that my Husband made. The other two Artists in the show are Birgit Huttman Holtz and Sculptor, Tim Pewe! There was also a Gooder Guys podcast on Soundcloud!

Completed paintings

Here are two previously posted paintings that I had completed recently;

"All Apologies" 25x25 I really enjoyed painting the doll, as well as her lace.

The 2nd one is titled "Best Intentions"oil on canvas - it was fun working on the 'torn' mural behind Melissa. The graffiti in the wood rail was neat to do. This painting is inspired by the old Pirate ride at Cedar Point amusement park.

New painting

Finished the drawing of my latest painting. I am having lots of fun with this one and want to have it set on a stage, vintage like!

WIP binoculars

This is my work in progress shot of Melissa with Binoculars. She is standing in front of a torn mural of a stormy sea and a battered ship in the distance. My influences here were the old Pirate ride from CedarPoint amusement park and the dark shadows move. I really loved the mood and colors in that!

Exploring texture

Here is a sample of a recent painting, experimenting with various texture. It is titled, "The Drowsy Hour" from a Keats poem. I purchased the frame from a local Antiques dealer. Which inspired the Theme of the painting.

Big Lebowski Tribute

Here is my collaboration with Michigan Artist, Tim Pewe, who made the delightful frame.  This was for the group show @ Rivers Edge Gallery in Wyandotte, Michigan - Titled "It Tied the Room Together" 

Inspired by the dream sequences in the Big Lebowski movie, I've selected key elements for my composition. I had lots of fun painting this, esp the dreamlike floor.
