Here are a couple of paintings that I'm working on right now, both are in the underpainting stage.

I have been practicing the 'indirect painting' technique. Here are two of the phases shown here depicting the underpainting and the direct paint layer without glaze or varnish. Apparently, it is important to wait 3-6 months before varnishing a painting so that the painting has enough oxidizing to prevent damage from the varnish.

Frans Hals

A painter that I'm admiring recently, Frans Hals; last year the Toledo Museum of Art acquired a painting by Frans Hals (see below).
