William Adolph Bouguereau -He isn't as popular as the impressionists are in our time, in fact it sounds as though he is very controversial now - how wonderful! I love his translucent flesh tones and you can always learn something from almost everyone. I certainly never have heard about him before but I will definitely have to investigate his technique if possible! *see link above to his webpage

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year 2012! Although I don't give much regard to the Mayan calendar-Doomsday-hoopla, I do appreciate Pre-Columbian art.

My favorite muralist

Diego Rivera would have been 125years old today! I have been fortunate to have access to my favorite mural, "Industry" at the Detroit Institute of Art.

Telestar by the TornadosThis song has been inspirational for my painting "Pursuit"

"Telstar is a 1962 instrumental record performed by The Tornados. It was the first single by a British band to reach number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and was also a number one hit in the UK. The record was named after the AT&T communications satellite Telstar, which went into orbit in July 1962."
